The Don River Awakens

The Don River Awakens is a community-driven event celebrating the ecological and cultural rebirth of Toronto’s Portlands and the Don River. Together with the City of Toronto, community, and cultural institutions we celebrated the development of Ookwemin Minising through public art, movement, and workshops. This ongoing project blends Indigenous knowledge, local artistry, and ecological storytelling to inspire awareness and shape the long-term cultural and community leadership on the island.
